This year’s Princeton Pi Day is right around the corner! On the plus side, the event falls on a Saturday (3.14.15) and on the plus side PIE!
But there is more to Pi Day than edible pie. Here’s some items on the jam-packed schedule:
7 a.m. — Walk a Pi Event sponsored by YMCA Princeton. Grab your gym bag and head to the new work out facility at YMCA at 59 Paul Robeson Place. Log 3.14 miles on one of the state of the art treadmills or elliptical trainers, take a photo of your Pi Mile and post it on the Pi Day Princeton Facebook Page! All participants will win a free Pi Day Princeton commemorative poster and free two week trial membership with a waived joiner fee if you join the YMCA!
9 a.m. — Pie Eating Contest at McCaffrey’s in the Princeton Shopping Center – moderated by Princeton comedic celebrity, Adam Bierman. Contestant Age Groups: Youth 4-8 and 9-13; Teens 14-18 and Adults 19 and above. There is no advanced registration. Simply arrive by 8:45 a.m. and report to the second floor inside McCaffrey’s to compete in this hysterical event. There is no registration for these hysterical events!
9:26:53 a.m. — Announcement of “My Once in a Lifetime Teacher” Video Contest in the Nassau Inn Prince William Ballroom – in collaboration with Princeton Educational Foundation, Princeton children, 18yrs and younger, send a 3 minute and 14 second video describing their Once in a Lifetime Princeton teacher! Parents send 3min 14sec videos to princetonmimi@gmail.com The winning student video will win $314.15! Why is this event at 9:26:53 a.m.? Because 3.141592653 will only happen once in everyone’s lifetime, silly!
