The Yardley Players present this hilarious female version of two roommates who quickly realize they are not a match made in heaven.
It’s a story first made popular by Felix Unger and Oscar Madison, but about to be reborn in Neil Simon’s female version of the infamous mismatched roommates. The Yardley Players present “The Odd Couple – Female Version” at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC”s) Kelsey Theatre.
Dates and show times for this hilarious play are Fridays, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.
A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on Oct. 28. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Instead of a poker night that starts things off in the original version, the recently divorced Olive Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. Her new roommate, Florence Unger, is going through marriage problems of her own. Could they be due to her compulsive neatness, her hypochondria, and her particular way of offering advice that drives everyone crazy? Enter the upstairs neighbors, the Costazuela brothers, who are just as goofy as the Pidgeon sisters from the original. The merriment is in high gear as Neil Simon examines relationships and the strains that can occur when friendships are taken to places they were never meant to go.
